Description An earthenware jug (c. 6.0" h. x 4.65" w. x 2.8" d.), finely modelled in the form of a budgerigar on a bough and vividly decorated in hand-painted enamels. The underside bears the usual Burgess & Leigh 'beehive' mark in green (c. 1940 -) accompanied by the impressed shape number ('No 13'), 'BUDGERIGAR' and less distinctly 'BAILEY' (followed by 'SCULP'?), the latter being difficult to decipher This piece is in excellent condition, and, thus, there is no discernable crazing or, of course, chips, cracks or restoration.
