It is one of a set of four she had displayed around her cool California-modern house as long as any of us can remember! It depicts an accordion player on horseback. This piece mounts on a wooden board to be hung as a plaque. The ceramic piece itself is 7 " tall, 6 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" deep. The wooden board (easily unbolted) is 11" by 5 1/2". All of my research on these pieces have led to Guido Gambone, for although the name Gambone doesn't appear on the piece, it is signed with his signature stick-figure donkey as well as "Vietri, Made in Italy." All four pieces in the set are signed in a similar manner. This auction is for one piece only. The others are listed separately. To get very specific about condition: -The glaze has a matte/porous feel and appearance, rather than lustrous/shiny. Unsure of what original appearance was. -There are significant chips all along the top of the horse's mane. -The horse's right front leg has been broken and repaired. -There is a chunk of unglazed clay near the rider's right foot.
