Antique Staffordshire Hen on Nest c 1880 with Markings Start Price USD 500.00 Current Price USD 500.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Wednesday, September 03, 2008 End Time Monday, September 08, 2008 Location Port Clinton, OH See more about 'Antique Staffordshire Hen on Nest c 1880 with Markings' Description Antique Staffordshire Hen on Nest c 1880 with Markings   This is a very nice RARE,  HEN ON NEST by Staffordshire with markings (a rarity) inside both the lid and the nest.  The #248 appears in both places (lid & nest), along with a pressed in #21/0 on the nest, and the lid has 0/35 pressed into it.   The nest measures 9 x 7, and the overall height including the hen is 8".  This is a beautiful, rare, and highly collectible decorative piece of Staffordshire.  Seldom do you find a piece of this quality with markings.  The hen is bisque (unglazed) in gray, charcoal, and black.  The nest is glazed in the brown color you see in the pictures.  She sits on green "grass"  with white eggs peeking out here and there.   It is in very good condition.  There are two small chips under the rim of the nest that don't detract from the appearance, as they're underneath the edge.  There are no cracks or crazing.  POLICIES No returns.  I will pay for shipping with insurance!  I prefer that you pay with PAYPAL, but I also accept money orders and checks. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTION'S END.
