  Marvelous LCT Tiffany Gold Favrile Crimped Rim Bowl.  Gorgeous Pink & Blue Highlights.  Polished Bottom.   Date:                1912Size:                 7-1/4" x 2"Signed:             L.C.T. Condition:         Excellent in every way with a little normal wear on the bottom and a few light marks.  Some of the photos show some light gum marks from tape, which I have since removed.   PLEASE SEE GREAT PRICES ON THE GOOD STUFF AT MY STORE Collectors International Art Glass Store       About Louis Comfort Tiffany 1878-1938 In 1878, Louis Comfort Tiffany was born to Charles Tiffany, Founder of Tiffany and Company. Louis, not wanting to go into the family business, turned his career instead to the decorative arts, producing an extensive line of stained glass lamps, art glass, enamels, and bronzes known the world over for their one-of-a-kind exquisite quality and beauty.   LCT began his first experiments with glassmaking in 1873.  In 1876 he exhibited paintings at Philadelphia Centennial World's Fair and in 1900 a major exhibit at the Paris Exposition Internationale; company changes name to Tiffany Studios.   In 1902 he was appointed design director of Tiffany & Company after the death of his father, Charles Tiffany; Tiffany Studios showroom moved to 45th Street in New York City and Tiffany Furnaces was established.    In 1880 the firm received its first major commission, the Veterans Room of the Seventh Regiment Armory, New York, New York.  In 1882 Associated Artists commissioned Tiffany to do work for Mark Twain, Cornelius Vanderbilt II and Ogden Goelet, and LCT was also hired by President Chester Arthur to decorate several rooms in the White House     In 1894 Favrile became a registered trademark.  In 1885 the Tiffany Glass Company was created. 1895-96 exhibited Favrile glass and leaded glass windows in Siegfied Bing's L'Art Nouveau gallery, Paris .   In 1919 Louis Tiffany retired and the company divided into Tiffany Furnaces, headed by A. Douglas Nash, to produce glassware and Tiffany Ecclesiastical department to make mosaics, leaded glass windows and lamps.  In 1924-Tiffany Furnaces closed.  Louis C. Tiffany died on January 17, 1933.
