" Children in their red pajamas and stocking caps are frolicking around the letters that spell NOEL. Each letter is a separate piece, but they are connected by a goldish metal chain that runs though rings in their hands. Each letter has gold trim and a bumpy texture on the front, kind of like hand-hammered copper does. They are hollow inside, and each has an indent in the top for a small candle. They all are decorated with holly and red berries. The N has a little girl ringing a gold bell. The O has another girl peeking through the hole in the center. E features a boy astride the base of the letter, holding a lantern. L has a boy sitting with a gift package in his hand. All have those sweet faces characteristic of Lefton, Napco, and other figurines made in Japan--with the heart-shaped mouths, rosy cheeks, and detailed eyelashes. All of the letters are in near mint condition, with no noted chips or cracks and almost no paint loss ( there are a few very minor, small spots on the back ) , but there is fine crazing.
