Description
1950's M.L. Owens Pottery Pitcher Seagrove N.C. click picture to enlarge Up for sale this week is a lovely vintage piece of North Carolina pottery by famed potter, M.L. Owens. The pitcher is a soft tobacco brown and stands a little over seven inches tall, with a mouth that is nearly six inches across. It is marked on the bottom with "M.L. Owens Pottery Seagrove N.C." in impressed letters. Overall, the condition of the pitcher is good, with some chipping of the glaze along the bottom edge, a couple of small places of glaze chipping along the lower body, and one small glaze chip along the lip. Still, Mr. Owens' earlier work is increasingly difficult to find, and this piece would make a nice addition to any collection of southern pottery.
