Description
1940s HULL POTTERY: 7-Inch IRIS BASKET // Blue Bottom / Rose Top - Great Floral Decoration FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING + INSURANCE! Before placing a bid, please be sure to read our entire TERMS section (below) for details and conditions. Thanks! This lovely Hull Pottery basket measures about 7 1/4" tall to the top of the handle and sits on an oval foot that's 3 1/4" by 5". The pattern is IRIS and was produced in the mid-1940s -- see page 49 of the Roberts Hull book for an example of this shape. The background decoration is done with a soft blue matte glaze at the base that's airbrushed into a rose-pink at top; the flowers are pale yellow and a deeper shade of rose. The impressed marks on the underside read 'HULL / U.S.A. / 408-7' and hand-cut into the clay underglaze is what looks like the numeral, '31'. There's no damage of any sort to this lovely piece of Hull -- no chips, cracks, flakes, stains, repairs or other problems. Upon very close inspection we found one factory flaw in the form of a bit of pooled glaze on the underside of the handle at the center, which is invisible when the piece is viewed at or below eye level. This is a very minor and not uncommon factory flaw, and it doesn't impact this handsome basket in any way. If this description, including the TERMS section below, has left any questions unanswered, we encourage you to eMail us before placing a bid. Please note that we may not be able to answer questions posed on the same day that the auction closes. CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUR OTHER eBAY AUCTIONS! THANKS AND GOOD LUCK! Pay me securely with any major credit card through PayPal! PLEASE NOTE: We now accept PayPal from buyers worldwide; however, item MUST be shipped to the address that PayPal provides to us. NO EXCEPTIONS. TERMS: 1) REGARDING PAYMENTS: We will send you an eBay invoice shortly after the auction closes. IF you live in the continental US, but not in California, you may pay for your item before receiving our invoice, if you wish to do so. Everyone else: Please wait until we send you an eBay invoice before making payment. All payments must be in US dollars. PayPal payments should be received no more than 5 days from the auction's close; payments via Check or Money Order - IF they are permitted by eBay - must arrive no more than 10 days after the close of the auction, and your merchandise will not ship until the payment has cleared. (See below.) California residents / addressees must pay 8.5% State Sales Tax in addition to their bid price OR provide a hard copy (NOT an eMail / PDF / FAX / JPG / etc.) of a valid, signed Resale Card before merchandise can be shipped - ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS! 2) FREE SHIPPING + INSURANCE: will be provided within the continental US via UPS Ground Service or Priority Mail shipping with Delivery or Signature Confirmation - BUT ONLY IF WE MAY CHOOSE THE CARRIER! Buyer must pay additional costs if any alternate means of transportation is desired/required, and that includes, at times, USPS within the lower 48: For example, items we deem to be large, heavy and/or expensive that are sent to PO boxes WILL incur additional charges. For goods shipped to Hawaii, Alaska or elsewhere outside the continental US, buyer to pay actual shipping and delivery confirmation charges LESS a $10 credit to compensate for our free domestic shipping policy. 3) REGARDING PAYPAL: We can now accept PayPal from buyers in all participating countries, worldwide, but the item MUST be shipped to the address provided to us by PayPal. For items that are to be shipped outside of the US AND have an eBay bid price of $250 or more, we will need to ship via the usually-more-expensive USPS EXPRESS MAIL method, in order to comply with PayPal's 'Seller Protection' requirements. NO EXCEPTIONS - Thanks for understanding. 4) REGARDING SHIPPING TIME: Our goal is to get your purchase shipped as soon as possible - though when we can ship depends on when we receive payment, of course. Usually, our auctions close between 5 & 7 PM PACIFIC Time, and we set aside time early the following day to package and ship those items that sell. IF we have your domestic PayPal payment before 11 AM PACIFIC (sometimes before Noon is OK) on the day following the auction's close, your merchandise will likely be sent on that day; International shipments may take a day or two longer. (There will be rare exceptions to this principle - such as storms, earthquakes, power outages, and so on; personal & family illness/emergencies; unusually high sales volume; other unforeseen circumstances - and in those instances we will ship as soon as it becomes possible for us to do so.) Electronic payments received (and eChecks that clear) after the 11 AM cutoff will typically see the relevant merchandise shipped within the next 2 business days; and, generally, the longer you take to make payment, the longer it will take us to schedule shipping. Also note that we do not ship on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays. Checks & Money Orders allowed by eBay can take 7-10 business days to clear, after which time you merchandise will be scheduled for shipping. IMPORTANT: We've clearly indicated the factors that determine our Shipping Time. If our abiding by any of these conditions would prevent you from giving us a '5-STAR' eBay FEEDBACK rating, PLEASE DON'T BID ON OUR MERCHANDISE! eBay penalizes us in a number of ways (directly and indirectly, all financial) for the smallest variations from a perfect score on the '5-STAR rating system' they've concocted, so if you have ANY sort of problem with the above, we'd rather you skipped our auctions. THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING! 5) INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: If your region or country is not on our 'Ship to' list, please contact us before placing a bid. (Be advised that we will ship to HONG KONG, but nowhere else in China.) All duties, tariffs, taxes, and/or other fees imposed by an international purchaser's Customs (or other govenment) Department(s) are the sole responsibility of the buyer. And, this transaction will typically be represented on the customs forms as a purchase of 'used merchandise', and it will be valued at your bid price. We will NEVER falsify Customs Documents; doing so is a crime, and so is ASKING us to do so! We will be happy to add to the paperwork any TRUTHFUL descriptions of your merchandise, when applicable, if they may help to mitigate your country's fees - such as 'antique', 'returning to country of origin' and so on; if you are aware of any such relevant and truthful descriptions, be sure to bring them to our attention when you make payment. AGAIN, PLEASE DON'T ASK US TO FALSIFY CUSTOMS DOCUMENTS! THANKS FOR CONSIDERING OUR MERCHANDISE. WE APPRECIATE IT! YOU MAY CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR OTHER eBAY AUCTIONS.
