It is a covered compote that I believe was likely made by the Egermann factory in the 1880s. I found no marking and am definitely not an expert so any help appreciated. The compote combines engraved ruby stain with an usual pattern glass design. The grape and vine motif is combined with an "egg and dart" type border. The faceted finial is outlined in ruby. The compote measures 5 1/2" to the rim, 10" to the finial, 5 3/4" at the widest point and 3 3/4" at the base. The condition is very good with a nick on the rim of the bowl that is completely covered by the lid and a small 1/8" chip on the base.
