Nice early blue transfer plate. This is from the "Oriental Sports' series. The "Oriental Sports" series was made by an unknown maker and also by Edward Challinor. This one was made by the unknown maker (mark is different than the Challinor mark). The view is called "The Common Wolf Trap". Circa 1830. Marked with the printed series mark only. The "Oriental Sports" series copied the views that Spode had in the "Indian Sporting" series. This early pearlware plate has a nice blue tint to the glaze. The condition is very good to excellent. No damage or repairs. There is a glazed over chip on the back foot (in-the-making). Wonderful very collectible series with animals in the border (bear, tiger, crane, etc...). Measures about 8 1/4". We usually ship 3 to 7 days after payment clears. We charge a $2.50 handling fee. All items sold as-is where-is. We are only responsible for the item while in our possession. We will not be held responsible for items lost or damaged during shipping. We will pack all items VERY WELL with bubble wrap and peanuts(furniture will be packed by the shipper). That is why ALL of the items purchased require insurance. In the unlikely event an item is damaged or lost by the mail/shipper we will work with you to help you file your claim, but the settlement will be between you and the carrier. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements on furniture items. We do have the phone number/email address of a couple of good shippers and will forward this if needed.
