Staffordshire Transferware. Beautiful early dark blue Transfer plate. The pattern is called "Cupid Imprisoned". The plate was made by Enoch Wood in the 1820s. This plate dates circa 1825. Marked with an impressed WOOD. The flash brightened up the color, the true color is a deeper darker blue. This is a highly collectible early pattern. The condition is excellent. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The plate is nice and clean. Some very light utensil marks might be seen when tilted toward the light (less than average). Beautiful highly collectible early plate. Scarce size measuring about 7 1/2" in diameter. BID WITH CONFIDENCE .
